Elizabeth Deveny is the Chief Executive Officer of the Consumers Health Forum of Australia (CHF), the national peak body for health consumers.
A highly respected leader in Australia’s health sector, Elizabeth has over 20 years’ experience spanning government, health service delivery, academia, and media, with a career focused on embedding equity, amplifying consumer voices, and driving policy and system reform.
Through CHF, Elizabeth has led national initiatives promoting consumer co-design, influencing regulatory and funding frameworks, and strengthening health literacy and engagement. She has contributed to major reforms including the Strengthening Medicare Taskforce, My Health Record, and Value-Based Healthcare frameworks, and is frequently invited to represent consumer perspectives at policy roundtables, Senate inquiries, and steering committees.
Elizabeth has played a pivotal role in advancing consumer involvement in healthcare decision-making, policy development, and research. Under her leadership, CHF has strengthened national mechanisms for consumer participation and built capacity through training programs, lived experience networks, and research partnerships.
She champions embedding lived experience across all stages of research and service delivery.
