Andrew M. Scott is the Head of the Tumour Targeting Laboratory, Co-Director of the Centre for Research Excellence in Brain Cancer, and Head of the ACRF Centre for Precision Medicine at the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Research Institute.
He also leads the Department of Molecular Imaging and Therapy at Austin Health and is a Professor at both the School of Cancer Medicine, La Trobe University and the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Melbourne.
Andrew is internationally recognised for his contributions to targeted antibody therapy and molecular imaging in oncology. Eight antibodies developed in his laboratory have been licensed to industry, and he has led numerous first-in-human and early-phase clinical trials advancing precision medicine.
Andrew has a distinguished record in national and international policy and advocacy. He was Principal Investigator of multi‑centre FDG PET trials involving over 30,000 patients and lead author of MSAC submissions that enabled Medicare funding of FDG PET for cancer in Australia.
A past‑President of the World Federation of Nuclear Medicine and Biology, he contributes to global strategy and training in molecular imaging through the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the World Health Organisation (WHO). He co‑led two Lancet Oncology Commissions on imaging and theranostics that informed the 2025 WHO Resolution on strengthening medical imaging capacity and continues to support its global implementation.
